Saturn

Saturn is the 6th planet in the solar system. It’s days are 10.7 hours long, the second shortest of the planets, and the years are 29 earth years long. It is made of mostly hydrogen and helium, like jupiter. Saturn has a dense core of iron and nickel surrounded by a rocky material. Despite it’s dense core, saturn is actually the only planet that is less dense than water, meaning it would float.

Saturn is not the only planet with rings, uranus, neptune and jupiter all have rings too, but saturns is definetely the brightest. They are made of ice and rock. But the rings are not its only satallites, Saturn also has over 60 moons. Saturn has a very strong magnetic field, yet still not as strong as jupiter’s. Light takes approximently 80 minues to reach saturn, yet it is a whole 886 million miles away from the sun. It is about 9 times the size of the earth and was named after the Roman god of agricultre and wealth who is also the father of jupiter.
